Whether you’re fully vegan or just looking to eat a more plant-based diet, it can often be hard finding vegan restaurants in London, or anywhere really. Thankfully more and more restaurants are catering for vegans, whether providing full vegan menus or upping the plant-based dishes on their existing menus. We’ve hunted around and found some of our favourite vegan restaurants in London. Check them out…
Coppa Club St Pauls
You’ll likely have seen this spot on Instagram; it’s the place with the super cool igloos on the roof. You know the one we’re talking about! However, Coppa Club has a lot more to it than trendy glass sculptures, providing great menus and tasty drinks in a laid back, sophisticated setting. And thankfully they’re also super vegan friendly. Their vegan burger made from beetroot, quinoa, chick pea, and coriander is delicious, and the miso-glazed aubergines are one of our favourite ever sides. Wash it all down with a classic cocktail and enjoy the incredible views.
Squeg and Bonez
We know that tofu gets a bad rep but done right, it’s one of the tastiest vegan dishes out there. And one venue that knows how to get them right is Squeg and Bonez in Hackney. This brand new restaurant is as cool as the name suggests, with natural wines and tasty dishes, all housed in an airy, bright spot. Try out their cured tofu, or go for pickled mushroom dumplings, or hot and cold noodles with baby gem. And it would be rude to miss out on the miso sticky toffee pudding…
Not a purely vegan restaurant but we think that having loads of your dishes cater to vegans allows you entry to this list. This cafe/restaurant serves up coffee and lunches through the day, changing to a buzzy bar with great music in the evening. Their roots and seeds salad puts a lot more effort in than most vegan salads, with artichoke and sweet potato complimenting almonds and toasted seeds. It’s also just a great place to hang out, with cosy sofas, great cocktails, and a chilled out atmosphere.
Vietnamese restaurants are always big on flavour meaning that if you’re looking for vegan restaurants in London that you can bring meat eaters to, somewhere like Banh Banh is always a great shout. There are plenty of (ve) options available, from tofu and mushroom summer rolls, to banh khot pancakes made with mini turmeric and coconut. Oh, and we definitely recommend getting a sorbe, the lychee one is de-licious.
Aline Lebanese Kitchen
Aline is the kind of place that cooks food that gives you a hug. It’s the kind of restaurant where you bring your friends, order loads of dishes, and settle in for a great feed. And their menu is stuffed with great vegan dishes from the hot and cold mezze sections. Enjoy pumpkin bulgar balls, some of the tastiest falafel in London, or some of their signature flatbread with za’atar and olive oil. And don’t forget to try out their seasonal bellinis, after all it’s not a night out without a tipple is it!
