The Larder House
There’s nowhere better to enjoy a roast than a traditional pub. Roaring fire, welcoming bar, and all the roast trimmings you could ever wish for. So we’ve brought you here. Except there’s a twist. Yes, it’s a traditional pub, but with plenty of modern features, it’s also cool enough that you’ll definitely be taking pics for the ‘gram. Not only do they serve up incredible roasts every Sunday, they also have a beautiful conservatory area, and a speakeasy bar upstairs (although it’s not open on Sundays). Choose from chicken, beef, ham hock, lamb, aubergine….the list goes on. And they even do sharing roasts if you’re in a group.
Urban Beach Hotel
Sunday roast in Bournemouth, overlooking that water? Yeah, we’ll take that thanks. If that’s not enough to get you going, their giant Yorkies should do it. This lovely venue takes great hospitality super seriously; they’re so friendly you’ll feel like you’re having roast at your mum’s. It’s all fairly traditional, with chicken, beef, and ham, but they’ve thrown in delicious twists like apricot stuffing, and deep fried crispy squid in the starters. There’s a great wine list if you need a curer, and their cocktail list is more than expansive.
The Pygmy Pineapple
You’ve got to go here just for the name right? It doesn’t get much cuter than teeny tiny pineapples, and Sunday roasts don’t come much better than at Pygmy Pineapple. Firmly focused on locally-sourced food, they’re also pretty sustainable, growing much of their own veg in a kitchen garden. Despite their diminutive name, their Sunday roast are sizeable with all the extras you’d expect, cooked to perfection. We highly recommend getting a pudding too, their namesake pygmy pineapple combines warm caramelised pineapple, with pineapple parfait, salsa, crisps, and braising syrup. And if that’s not your bag, their cocktail list is damn impressive!
The Dancing Moose
Honestly, what is it with Bournemouth that all the restaurant names are designed to make you laugh? When you get to The Dancing Moose though, the only time you’ll be laughing is in delight. Because their Sunday menu is extensive, featuring one of the best veggie Sunday roasts in Bournemouth, classic meaty roasts with all the trimmings, a great all day brunch menu, and kilos of wings for when you’ve really overdone it the night before. Their desserts are also like a big Sunday hug, with s’more cheesecake, sticky toffee pudding, and cinnamon swirl doughnuts all making the cut.
